A final decision by the First Division of the Patent Office to refuse registration, may be appealed to the Appeals Division of the Patent Office within two months from the date of the decision.

Should the Appeals Division uphold the decision to refuse registration, their decision may be tried by the regular courts of law - the Oslo District court being the court of first instance.
