In Norway, a divisional application may be filed at any stage before the parent application is granted.

All divisionals will have the same filing date as the parent application.

The original specification may be used without amendments, but a new set of claims and a new abstract must be filed. It must also be stated what invention is to be covered by the parent application and the divisional application, respectively.

If the inventors of the divisional application are not all of the inventors of the parent application, the inventors of the divisional application must be specified.
