Grant of patent

After granting the patent, the NIPO issues the patent document and sends it to us. We forward it to the client after having checked it.

Patents granted in Norway are announced in the NIPO’s patent gazette, Norsk Patenttidende. Norway has a post-grant opposition system, and the opposition period is in most cases nine months from the date of grant (Oppositions & observations).

A Norwegian patent is valid for 20 years as of the filing date if annuities are duly paid. We keep track of the payment deadlines for you and notify you in due time (Duration & annuities).
